The unique approach of central Denver neighborhood developer Milwaukee Development

I recently partnered with a central Denver neighborhood property developer, Milwaukee Development, and wanted to highlight their approach to development, one that differs from so many fixers and flippers in the city.

They take a designer’s approach to crafting homes — picking only unique properties with inherent charm, often near or across from a park with nice lots, to purchase and update. In short, they focus on crafting A+ real estate from gems that may have lost a little luster.

Milwaukee Development shines in taking these older homes and completely restoring them; when finished, the homes retain their original charm and history. See all our milwaukee development collection homes here.

Much of their work centers on the wonderful Washington Park neighborhood, a classic Denver hood and where I do a lot of my business. There, they restore 100-year-old bungalows into functional layouts for 2021 buyers, such as creating more open floor plans, adding mudrooms and increasing natural sunlight.

Restoration, not a flip

115 South Emerson Street, in Wash Park just west of Denver Country Club, is a great example of Milwaukee’s work.

They refreshed the 3,042-square-foot, five-bedroom, 3.5-bath bungalow into an open, bright home.

To get there, they removed an exterior staircase and added stairs inside. They connected the kitchen to the living area, added a main-floor office space and freshened up the fireplace.

In addition, they created a master suite, walk-in closet and a second bathroom upstairs. This was a restoration, not a flip.
